Women’s Fashion Week Autumn-Winter 2022/23

Just as the fashion shows for men have come to an end, things are moving swiftly towards women’s collections. Women’s fashion weeks take place in New York, London, Milan as well as Paris. The original venues showcase the latest visions of designers who are offering fashionistas to dazzle the public with bold looks this autumn and winter.

Although the pandemic has receded, the threat nevertheless remains. Since Omicron Covid-19 made some changes to the seemingly routine, the organization of shows had to experiment a little.

Some were decided to go digital. So the fashion week that took place in Milan consisted of 71 shows, as the National Chamber of Italian Fashion reported. Sixty-five events were held live and six were held digitally.

Live shows were held at fashion “heavyweights”: Armani to Cavalli, Prada and other Italian fashion legends. Young labels went digital. Some of them have already had a chance to show their collections in Paris. Also present in Milan was a streetwear brand called Palm Angels. Previously his collections had only been presented during men’s week.

It was possible to enjoy the shows directly at the event, provided that the new rules are observed. Thus the guest must have a certificate of vaccination and wear an FFP2 mask. The Italian government also allowed baers from states using vaccines not recognised by the EMA to take part in exhibitions and shows.

Fashion shows were held in the northern part of luxurious Italy. They were distinguished by the noise and festive mood, as they were attended by international stars. The fashion designers once again managed to surprise everyone. This time they presented collections with striking contrasts. This time they presented collections in stark contrasts, some were more conservative than others which offered a futuristic edge.

Despite the intricate detailing, all the trends for the coming seasons were apparent. New trends from Fendi:

  • flyable fabrics;
  • tight suits;
  • leather elements;
  • wool.

Additional touches include different densities and textures, giving a touch of flamboyance and femininity at the same time.

The Roberto Cavalli brand, on the other hand, was conservative and restrained. There was a fusion of bright colours with relaxed, futuristic designs and animalism. Also some models are dresses with extreme frankness, but are complemented with elements of medieval England.

Max Mara stayed true to its two traditional traits of conservatism and minimalism. The brand chose to create looks, each in a single colour palette: brown, black and grey. Orange, yellow and red added brightness to some of the models. Interestingly, these are the colours in the tops for subsequent seasons.

At Milan Fashion Week there were many interesting looks from many famous brands. Somewhere there were similarities, and somewhere the complete opposite. However, at least at one show you can find something you’re sure to fall in love with and want to buy.
